I have been wanting to get into Myster/Thrillers for so long but I was a little nervous going into this book as I wasn't sure it was going to be one that I liked. I kind of though it might be a little predictable, and don't get me wrong there were a couple of small things I guessed right but there were so many twists and turns that even if you guessed a few of them right you were still left on the edge of your seat and dumbfounded at all the little reveals.
After watching Yellowjackets, I was having a bit of a Sophie Thatcher obsession, because, I mean, look at her. She's gorgeous. This movie was a pretty easy watch, nothing too special but I definitely still loved it. It was such a thought-provoker on how we treat others and a little bit on women's roles in society.
I think I've watched the live performance of this song on YouTube about 60 times this month. I have been absolutely earth-shatteringly obsessed with this song. It's one of those times when you find a new band or artist and you love every song they make. Such an awesome combo of soulful country with almost an Elvis-like rock.
I have seen the poster for this show on Netflix just about every time I go in to find something to watch. At first I didn't think it was something I'd be that interested in but boy was I wrong. This show sucked me in so quickly with all the anticipation of what went down in the wilderness.
One of my favourite ways to find new music is from movies and/or tv shows - this one played in an episode of Yellowjackets and I was obsessed. I'd definitely heard it before, but it was like perfect timing since I was going through a bit of a divorced-dad-rock phase with music. Gave me lots of Creed vibes and had me belting in the car most days.
I've seen this series around for ages and finally decided to dip into it. I think the heavy Fae themes kind of put me off for a little while as it's not something I've been super into, but I was pleasantly surprised. The world building was phenomenal and the romance was holding me on the edge of my seat.
I feel like most Australians have heard of Belle Gibson and the absolute rollercoaster of lies she spread online. It still baffles me to this day to think she thought she could get away with it all, and it baffles me even more at how (apparently) accurate this show portrays it. Also, Kaitlyn Dever is one of the only American actors I've seen who actually does a believable Australian accent, so huge props to her!
My partner and I's housemate recommended this one to me and oh my gosh the hook was in my head for majority of February. It's probably not the best rap song out there but God was it catchy.
Iron Flame tore my heart into a million pieces but holy cow was it so good. It definitely had a few slow moments where I was ready to the story to hurry up but overall it was great and has made me nervous for book 3.
I've never been a huge anime-watcher but while still on holidays, my partner and I decided to start the year off with some Death Note. It's one of those shows that I've seen around forever and the idea of it has always intrigued me (I'm a sucker for some good lore), and let me tell you I was not prepared. What a great show, honestly! Obviously it has that over-the-top dramatics that animes usually have, but it was a great watch!
I was hung up on Arcane for so long that I couldn't not replay the soundtrack almost everyday. This one has such a great, chill, hot almost dark and mysterious vibe to it.
